Workplace and remote training
We offer both in-workplace and remote training, focusing on the growing global evidence that highlights the benefits of changing the language used in healthcare. As research continues to demonstrate its positive impact, it is becoming increasingly essential for teams to receive this training. Effective communication can directly enhance patient experience, reduce recovery time, decrease intra-operative and post-operative medication use, and ultimately lead to cost savings. In some countries, this training is already integrated into team development—it’s needed everywhere!
Educating healthcare professionals
We are also working to educate healthcare professionals in both hospitals and primary care settings on the importance of using more supportive language to improve patients’ experiences and minimise the potential side effects of medications and treatment.
We're now excited to offer small group sessions for anyone looking to enhance their coping strategies in any of these areas.
“Hypnotherapy will become a tool in your toolbox, an ingredient in your store cupboard, something you can call upon whenever you need it, and it can be adapted to suit your needs.”

What is NLP?
Neurolinguistic Programming is all about the art and science of communication -what “makes us tick”, and how we make sense of the world around us.
It is an invaluable tool that helps us understand how we react to our environment, both consciously and subconsciously and the thoughts, feelings and actions that result.
The interesting and powerful thing about NLP is that we can actually re-organise our internal programming so that we can make changes to these pathways and allow ourselves the outcomes that we want.
Our sessions often incorporate NLP techniques that are easy and fun to learn.
NLP has several teachings that underpin the work that practitioners do to assist people to explore change.
The most powerful teaching, for me, is that everybody possesses the answers to their own issues within themselves – that we all have the resources we need, and that these can be accessed with a little guidance. This sounds incredibly simplistic, however, much of the time it is simply that these answers are held in the deep subconscious, and this is one of the reasons that NLP and hypnotherapy are such great companions.
“The meaning of a communication is the response it elicits” is another NLP central tenet. Basically, we cannot NOT communicate! As well as the words we use, our “non-verbal communication” delivers a huge degree of meaning to our interactions. Understanding how to recognise the subtleties of the way we communicate verbally and non-verbally, and therefore how to enhance communication, can be an extremely useful tool in all areas of our lives.
In NLP it is also taught that “There is no failure, only feedback”. This “re-frame” is remarkably handy when we’re looking at changing our behaviours/habits, and can also be helpful for those perfectionists among us – to assist us in pushing our boundaries a little.
Lastly, NLP operates on the understanding that “every behaviour has a positive intent” and that “people = “more than” their behaviour”. This lends NLP the non-judgemental approach that makes it so compassionate and transformative.
My name is Dr Dawn White, a GP of more than 25 years. Throughout my journey in both medicine and life, I have noticed how powerful our “inner resources” are when dealing with illnesses, injuries, life-changing events, or common day-to-day issues that create barriers for living a full and enjoyable life.
A few years ago, I was presented with a particular health challenge of my own, and was sent on a journey of discovery to find what buoyed me when the going got tough. Having had an interest in hypnosis since studying psychology as a medical student, I went on to study for qualifications in hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming) so that I could help others discover a more expansive and creative way to make changes in their lives.
I have had the privilege of journeying alongside a huge number of people in my time as a doctor, and experiencing how different folk cope with all the things that life throws at them, be it challenges of illness, stress, disaster, or aiming for peak performance in a particular area of their life. The resilience of human beings never ceases to amaze and delight me.
I think that as a doctor, people often come to us looking for an external way of healing themselves – such as a pill or a procedure, and this is probably due to the approach taken by the Western medical model (which separates mind and body). However, with hypnotherapy and NLP this focus shifts away from this, and turns towards re-awakening the resources that we all have (even if we think we don’t!) inside ourselves, allowing us to take control of our very own set of skills, befriending our nervous systems, and making changes for life.
“I have been thrilled with the progress with my hypnotherapy sessions with Dr Dawn. It's just a shame that I have waited so long to work on my mind as much as I have been dedicated to trying to keep the body fit. It's nothing like you see on the movies or the entertaining hypnosis shows. It is gentle and you are completely in control, but guided to use your inner resources”
